Christmas is almost here and we are really excited in our house! I love tying in Christmas into our day in little ways.
We have just about mastered colors in our house, however, it makes her feel good that she can easily do something, so we played this fun color the room game. I placed the colored presents in different tin boxes and hid them around the room. When she found a present, she colored one of the presents around the tree to match. She wanted to play this game over and over.
We love to count in our house. V has been showing an interest in numbers. I found cute advent clothespins at Hobby Lobby. Violet matched the number on the clothespin to the number on the Christmas tree. After she matched the numbers we counted to ten and pointed to each number as we counted. This was a great fine motor activity. You could also write the numbers on a regular clothespin or use scrapbook numbers to attach to the clothespin.
I love anything retro. I made candy canes like the one above when I was little and I was so excited do this activity with my daughter. Violet is three, and I was worried that this activity would be too tricky for her, but she did great. I gave her a pipe cleaner with one end tied and she added the beads one at a time to make this cute ornament.
